What is EyeCare America?

EyeCare America is one of the country's leading public service programs that provides eye care through our volunteer ophthalmologists. Since 1985, we have helped more than 2.2 million people. Ninety percent of the care provided is at no out-of-pocket cost to the patient.

How does EyeCare America work?

Patients or caretakers answer a few short questions to see if they are eligible. Their responses are computed and if deemed eligible, they are matched to the nearest volunteer by zip code. Patients receive a letter with information about their EyeCare America ophthalmologist so they can schedule their appointment. At the appointment, the doctor provides a comprehensive eye exam for the patient. Ninety percent of the care provided is at no out-of-pocket cost to the patient.

If you qualify, you'll get an immediate referral by mail to make your appointment

If you do not qualify, we will provide you with other useful resources
