When it comes to speaking up for animals, never be silent! From the farm to the dinner table, animals are mutilated, crammed into cages, and killed. They’re shackled, beaten, and forced to perform for entertainment. They’re poisoned and blinded in experiments. And they’re skinned alive for fashion. They suffer, but they can’t make the abuse stop. That’s up to us. Pledge never to be silent in the face of cruelty and exploitation.
It only takes a moment to change the life of an animal facing abuse and exploitation.
Let Your Voice Be Heard
What does “animal rights” mean?
“Animal rights” means that animals deserve consideration of what is in their best interests, whether or not they’re “cute,” useful to humans, or an endangered species—and regardless of whether any human cares about them at all. It means recognizing that animals are not ours to use—for experimentation, food, clothing, entertainment, or anything else.
It’s not just a philosophy—it is a social movement.
Animals don’t exist for human use, and we need your voice to help us continue to make progress in this movement. In today’s world of virtually unlimited choices, we have the power to put an end to cruelty to animals by making compassionate choices about the food we eat, the things we buy, and the activities we support—and then using our voices to tell others.
Take every opportunity to speak up for animals.
When you hear a neighbor talking about attending the circus or when a close friend asks you out to dinner, use the conversation as a starting point to further the rights of animals. Remember: Only prejudice allows us to deny others the rights that we expect to have for ourselves. Whether it’s based on race, gender, sexual orientation, or species, prejudice is morally unacceptable.
“We don’t just want bigger cages, we want empty cages.”
